Get Acquainted With His Voice

Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me (Revelation 3:20).

The Lord Jesus said, ‘’My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me’’ (John 10:27). It means if you belong to Christ, you must become acquainted with His Word because that’s how you recognize His voice. Through constant meditation on His Word, His voice become clearer to you, and His blessing become manifest in all you do. Joshua 1:8 says, ‘’This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written therein. For then you will make your way prosperous and have good success.’’

To experience true success and live an excellent life you must be acquainted with the Word. If you keep hearing and receiving God’s Word, that’s what will come out of you each time you speak, because out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks (Mathew 12:34). Your words will inspire and not discourage; because you have become acquainted with the voice of your heavenly Father and have learnt to communicate at His level. If you store God’s Word in your heart’s treasury you’ll always speak the right words that’ll minister grace to your hearers.

Decide to love and not hate; decide to build and not destroy. Decide to lift and not deflate; decide to bless and not criticize.

Prayer

Thank you Father for teaching me to be attuned to your voice by paying heed to your Word. My heart is ready to receive and to be transformed by the ministry of your Word today. I give myself wholly to the Word, to instruct my reins and guide my path, as I observe to do what it says, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

God Takes Special Interest In You

For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren (Romans 8:29).

God knew you before you were born; did you ever stop to think about it? It reveals just how special you are to Him. He foreknew and predestined you to a glorious life ever before you were born.

The word ‘’foreknow’’ as used in our opening verse means more than just knowing someone ahead of time. It also connotes to take special interest in someone. God takes special interest in you because of Jesus Christ. He planned your life ahead of time. He planned to make you walk in preordained pathways and be conformed to the image and likeness of His son, Jesus.

Observe our theme verse again, this time from the Amplified version: ‘’For those whom he foreknew [of whom he was aware and loved beforehand], He also destined from the beginning [foreordained them] to be molded into the image of His Son [and share inwardly His likeness]…’’ Blessed truth! It’s like what the Lord said in Jeremiah 1:5, ‘’Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.’’ I’ve often tried to imagine what must have gone through the mind of Jeremiah, when the Lord said those words, telling him ‘’I chose you before you were born.’’

Now, this isn’t limited to Jeremiah; it applies to you too. God also knew you before you were born. You didn’t come to this World by chance; He knew you were coming; therefore you’re not an accident. Never gripe, complain or worry about past mistakes. You should always declare, ‘’My life is for the glory of God; I’m journeying in preordained pathways.’’ No matter what happens, square up, chip up, and be conscious that the father of our Lord Jesus Christ has established you in preordained pathways.

Prayer

Dear Father, what an honour to know you delight in me specially! I’m propelled by your wisdom to walk in the paths of victory, joy, prosperity and peace that you’ve prepared for me today, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Let Your Light So Shine

…Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven (Mathew 5:14, 16).

In our theme scripture, the Master unveils an important success principle; He tells us something about promotion and recognition, and how they come. He said let your light so shine, before men-all-men-that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Notice He didn’t say ‘’Let your voice be so loud’’; neither did he say ‘’Let your light so shine before the boss, the king or the leaders.’’ Rather, He says, ‘’Let your light so shine before men’’; that’s your mandate! You’re to shine anywhere and everywhere; in your family, school, neighborhood, place of work, state, country-everywhere! You’re to win and make progress always, no matter the circumstances of life.

Joseph the son of Jacob, is a notable example in the regard. He was sold into slavery by his brothers, and was later put in prison, after being wrongly accused. Yet, he shone so brightly in the midst not all those difficult times and eventually rose to become the prime minister in a foreign country.

Follow the very simple but instructive principles of Jesus on success, one of which is letting your light so shine before men. The inevitable result is that through you, the lives of others will be affected and improved such that it’ll be difficult for your impact to be unnoticed or unrewarded. Note, however, that the scripture doesn’t say men will see your good works and promote or reward you. It says instead that they’ll glorify your Father who’s in heaven who in turn will promote you. Your promotion comes from the Lord (Psalm 75:6). Yours is to do what’s right and not be a man pleaser; and it won’t be long before you’re catapulted to higher dimensions of greatness and prosperity.

Prayer

Dear Father, I give you praise and glory for making me a light to my world. I serve you with my life and express my significance in the world to the praise and glory of your majesty, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Seek To Please The Lord Not Men!

And when he (God) had removed him (Saul), he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfill all my will (Act 13:22).

What are the motives behind your actions? Why do you do things you do? The motivation behind your aspiration matters.

Writing to Timothy, his protégé, the apostle Paul made this remarkable statement: ‘’…I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who had enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry’’ (1 Timothy 1:12). This verse of scripture lets us know that Paul was full of gratitude to the One who had called him; for granting him the grace to be effective in the ministry of reconciliation. This is what counts.

You could live your whole life to be known of men; to be famous and have lots of money, and everything money can buy. Nevertheless, if the Gospel of Jesus Christ isn’t uppermost in your heart, as a compelling force in you, you’ve lived an empty life. Remember that one day, the Bible says, and every one of us shall receive the things done in his body. Then we shall see what our true motives were; were you compelled by the love of God or by the praise of men?

In your service to the Lord, contributions to society, relationships with other people, and even in your plans for the future, your aim should be to please the Lord and live up to his expectations of you. Your desires should be after God’s heart. Understand being successful is not about pleasing other people; is about bringing out the best in yourself. It’s about discovering God’s Purpose in your life and fulfilling it.

Focus on what God wants and channel your energies towards fulfilling His dreams, and His peace will reign in your heart! You’ll continually heap success upon success as you live to the glory of Christ; seeking to please him only.

Prayer

Dear Father, there’s none like you! You alone are worthy of all praise and adoration. I worship you today, and focus my whole being on you-the personality of my deepest affection-to do your will and walk worthy of you unto all pleasing, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
