Enforce Your Victory Sunday, March 25th

Pastor Chris

He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name from the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels (Revelation 3:5).

In the scripture above, Jesus spoke to the seven churches and said, ‘’He that overcometh…’’ You might ask ‘’what does the lord want us to overcome? Is it the devil, the world, or the flesh?’’ Well, neither of this three, and I’ll explain.

Jesus already defeated Satan and the cohorts of darkness on your behalf. In Luke 10:18-19, after the seventy disciples Jesus sent out to heal and preach returned, He said, ‘’I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven…’’ The Apostle Paul relayed a graphic illustration of the victory of Jesus over Satan and the cohorts of hell: ‘’And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it’’ (Colossians 2:15).

The Lord Jesus dispossessed Satan of his authority, rendered him powerless and gave us the victory! Therefore, Satan doesn’t have any right over the world today, neither does he have the power to run your life. All you have to do is enforce your victory; that’s the context in which the word ‘’overcome’’ is used in our opening verse. It signifies a fight of faith, not a fight with the devil, your flesh, or the world: ‘’Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life where unto thou art also called and has professed a good profession before many witnesses’’ (Timothy 6:12).

As for the world, in John 16:33 Jesus said, ‘’…In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.’’ We have therefore overcome the world in Christ. This means you don’t have to try to overcome the world or the flesh; rather, you’re to live beyond the flesh by walking in the Spirit! That means walking in the light of God’s Word, in spite of sensory perception.

Appropriate and lay hold of, the victories Jesus already wrought and accomplished for you through your faith-filled declarations. It may be in your job, finances, health or family; refuse to accept failure. Keep declaring your victory and you will have them established for you.

Confession

I’m what God says I am; a victor, an overcomer and more than a conqueror! Greater is he that is in me that he that is in the world. I keep the devil and his cohorts where they belong-under my feet; and I live perpetually in victory, health and success in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
