Pastor Anita
So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed (Acts 19:20).
In Acts 19, we read about how the city of Ephesus had been completely given to idolatry. But as the word of God was preached with great power, the entire city was thoroughly impacted. The Gospel spread rapidly and prevailed, until it gained governing and controlling influence. The more the people of that city heard it, the more it gained the dominion in their lives.
This is the prevailing power of the Word; it can gain the dominance and mastery over any individual, city, nation or situation. It prevails over sickness, poverty and the negative circumstances of life. Our opening scripture is similar to what the Apostle John said in 1 John 5:4 about the Word: ‘’For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.’’ Notice he used the term ‘’whatsoever.’’ This is because it’s not just dealing with humanity or personalities, but whatever proceeds from God-such as His Word-overcomes the world.
That’s why you must never be discouraged or defeated, because you’re born of the Word (I Peter 1:23), and everything that’s connected to you takes root from the Word. Being born of the Word makes you impregnable.
The Word of God in you-in your heart and on your lips will grow mightily and prevail over all the negativities of life. Proclaim the Word today and experience victory in your finances, health, academics and family! Declare the Word against sickness, insecurity and harsh economic conditions, and there’ll be a change, for the Word has power. The Word of God is your weapon for waging war against the adversary. The Bible says it’s ‘’sharper than any two-edged sword’’ (Hebrews 4:12). That means you can use the Word to cut in pieces whatever comes against your faith.
Prayer
Dear Father, you’ve given me life through your Word. Your glory is manifested in everything I do because the ministry of the Word is effective in my life. I thank you for the prevailing power of your Word and it’s ability to effect changes in my life, and in the circumstances around me.
