The Glory Of The Word Thursday, March 29th

Pastor Chris

And the word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld this glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth (John).

The Word of God is truth; that means it’s absolute reality! When you study the Word, you receive something much more than inspiration; you receive divine light, insight and wisdom to cause you to function in sync with God’s perfect will for your life. Also, the Word of God has the ability to transform you and make you what it talks about. 2 Corinthians 3:18 says, ‘’but we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.’’

We see the glory of God by beholding the mirror of God, which is the word of God. As you look at the glory of God in the mirror of God, you’re changed into the same glory that you see in the Word. That means the more you look-meditate or contemplate the glory of God-in the Word of God, the more you become the glory that you see.

John 1:14 says, ‘’And the word became flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.’’ Besides giving the Word of God personality, we also observe in this scriptuire that the Word of God has glory. Notice it says, ‘’…we beheld his glory…’’ because the Word is a person; He’s glory-personified. Glory is splendor, brightness, beauty, holiness, and purity. The Word of God has all these and much more. Now you can better understand why the Bible refers to Jesus-the Word of God as the brightness of God’s glory-the effulgence and out-shining of His glory.

Jesus is the expression of the glory of God; God gave Him that excellent glory which He in turn gave to us. We have become sharers of His glory: ‘’And the glory which thou givest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one’’ (John 17:22). As He (Jesus) is the glory of God, so are we in this world (1 john 4:17). There’s glory in your life; it’s the glory of the Word; walk in the light of that glory.

Prayer

Dear heavenly father, I thank you for your Word that’s a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path, As I contemplate the Glory of God in the mirror by meditation, I’m metamorphosed into the same image of glory that I see in the Word. My life is full of glory, grace and truth because I’m the offspring of the Word, In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
